“Yo, outdoorswoman! Where you been?”

“I’m glad you asked.”

“You’ve not, like, written anything blogwise for about 6 weeks.”

“This is correct.”

“So you gonna let us in on what’s happenin’ in outdoorswoman world or what?”

“Well, are you ready for this?”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah.”

“Are you really, really ready for this?”

“Get on with it!”

“Are you listening-”

“I’m losin’ my patience, lady.”

“Well, I’ve got a job”

“You?”

“Yes, me. Don’t sound so surprised.”

“Well you gonna tell us ’bout it or what?”

“Right here goes-

After 6 months of idling and having an awful lot of the ‘type of time that isn’t money’, I have got a job with the local council. It’s not shiftwork, I get bank holidays off, sickpay, training, in fact all the things you expect from an employer but often the type of provisions that frequently slip their minds.

It’s a good job with reasonable pay, I won’t have as much time to experience the great outdoors but I need to live in the real world and I can’t complain about the wonderful feeling of being paid and having my evenings free.

I’ll try to keep some semblance of updating the outdoorswoman blog but I can categorically state now that it will not be as frequent as before, although I will add more recipes and give updates on that redoubtable house-rabbit, Toby.”
